THE MEMORIES

Carien and Bas

We have known David for years through our mutual hobby waterpolo. As a photographer he covered several tournaments and (non-wedding) parties we had visited and the resulting pictures always looked great. The moment we told him we were going to get married he offered to take the pictures on our special day. We thought this was a great idea, also because David had been the only photographer so far who managed to take arranged pictures of Carien with her eyes open. Just as important, he shared some wedding pictures he had taken which we loved instantly.

A few weeks before the wedding we got together to share our wedding plans, brainstormed about possible wedding picture locations in Amsterdam and worked out a good practical schedule for the day itself. David asked us about our thoughts, wishes and needs for the wedding pictures but also assisted us with a lot of ideas to look into.

The weeks before the wedding he kept us posted on his preparations and we chose the locations for our wedding pictures, the “Magere Brug” and the “Oosterpark”. As a bad weather backup, we could go the “Huize Frankendeal”, the actual wedding location.

On the day itself the weather was beautiful. Before going out for a photo shoot, David took some beautiful stills and ‘getting dressed’ shots at our home. We are not the posing types, but David is so relaxed he makes it fun posing for a picture. During the wedding and the following reception and dinner he not only captured the big moments but also the emotions of the day. After our wish, family portraits were taken at the wedding location and these look amazing! Also at the party he took random pictures of our guests and it was very obvious David was not only taking pictures but also interacted with the guests while taking the pictures.

We have about 600 pictures from our wedding which we look at at least once a week and they make us relive this beautiful day. The wedding day was exactly what we wished for and David really captured it like we experienced it.

THANKS!
