THE MEMORIES

Southern Africa meets Western Africa – Regina and Rex

Getting married is a special event and more so late in life. After all those years of waiting for the right man, everything had to be perfect. With my wedding planners Helena N- P and my daughter Julia Chanda Zee, we wanted a lasting token of the event. Every aspect had to fall into place but who would be able to capture the memories for us? The search for a photographer started over the internet and we saw quite a number. Then my daughter sent me an email – Mum I found him, take a look at this website-she said and that was the end of our search.  What caught the three of us, was the natural look of the pictures, nothing rehearsed not conventional wedding pictures but those special moments that when you look back, you smile, and ooh and ahh over.

We set up a meeting with David who graciously agreed to come from Amsterdam to our house in Den Haag.  From the start, he felt like a friend, better yet a part of the family as we got to know each other and to discuss how we wanted the day to proceed. This was so much fun knowing David would himself be married two months after us, we compared notes. We shared moments about how he from Australia met his wife who is Dutch and how I, from Zimbabwe met my husband who is Nigerian and lives in Canada. Talk about international, intercultural encounters!

David – I am overwhelmed by how beautiful all the pictures are and how you captured the spirit of the day, and as I specifically wanted, memories in Den Haag you found a bicycle in Centrum and all the works. You knew where to place what, like my lovely bouquet… there are so many precious moments that you captured with my husband- I love, love them.  David in spite of all the paparazzi, my eager beaver guests, you still managed to maneuver around them- that was genius, and it took patience and perseverance- trying to get the right moment. Thank you again David, for checking up on us ever so often to see how we were doing especially for my daughter who was a chief brides maid and also the contact point for my family – it was a hectic day for her . Thank you for going the extra mile, staying right until the end of the day, you went above and beyond making our day super special, we do appreciate you!

I shall always treasure those awesome moments.  If there is ever a repeat of this day (as in our vow renewals) you are our number one choice… this is from the bottom of my heart.

Sincerely,

Queen, on behalf of my honey, the King, Rex Okorafo.
